50 Shades of Red

Sometimes life affords you moments that any writer would be proud to have dreamt up. Here’s a true story that really is proof that life can be funnier than fiction.

An English friend told me recently that she popped into her local supermarket to get a few things. One of these things was book to read while in Italy. It was only when the items she was purchasing were on the conveyor belt at the check-out and presented to the very young male behind the cash register that she realised why he blushed.

The items she was purchasing were, a cucumber, three mattress protectors and the book, 50 Shades of Grey.

Poor boy, whatever must he have thought.
